Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and mop provide the convenience of cleaning both dry debris (dust, dirt) and wet messes (spills and stains) in one session without having to swap out devices. They can also save storage space compared to having two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will have impressive navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models with docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, fill their water tanks and wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's one of the simplest robots to set up that we've ever tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and an easy-to-follow guide will have you up and running with a clean, full dust bag, a hard floor solution and water tank in no time.
The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that is able to clean up a storm and is a great vacuum cleaner too. The mops spin at high speed and use 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to get rid of pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, as well as a selection of brushes and attachments as well as an intuitive app that lets you choose the type of cleaning you want for each room.
You can, for example, ask the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly but leave the spare bedroom alone. The S1 Pro's front colision sensors and its smart navigation technology are excellent too and the robot is able to detect tiny obstacles that other models struggle with. Its only minor issue is that it can smash into walls and other objects at a high speed, but an instant glance at the cleaning history in the app tells you exactly what it's doing as well as where it's heading and what obstacles it's run into or avoided.
A large LCD screen on the docking station shows you when maintenance tasks need to be done including emptying the debris tray and rinsing its dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent automatically into the water tank, with a 600ml bottle of the eufy's solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long run time. The mop can operate for 184 mins in Quiet Mode. The vacuum can last 136 mins in standard mode, before needing to recharge or returning back to the base. The app is easy to use and intuitive, allowing you to look at all the details of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's flagship robot vacuum and mop, is the newest version. In contrast to the model of last year this one has an agitator that doubles in its mopping pad which greatly improves carpet cleaning abilities. robot vacuums reviews has an improved suction power which allows it to remove finer hairs and other debris other robotic cleaners might miss.
As with the two other Roborock models I've tested it also has a 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that can help it avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by having a dual camera that can detect objects and determine whether they're a wall or another surface. It can then change its course automatically and clean around them without stumbling.
It's the most expensive of the three models I've examined, however, it's also the most feature-packed. Its sleek, angular design is striking and only has three physical buttons. The power button, which resumes the cleaning, a mop button that doubles as a child lock and a home button to send the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml dustbin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank self-empties, and the bin is auto-filling.
The only negative I discovered with this model is that the VibraRise mop pad mount isn't removable. While you can replace the mopping cloth (if needed) however, it's a hassle to remove the mount itself to wash it manually. I've noticed that any carpet that the robot crosses will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on mounts, which can cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a range of smart features, including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can configure and manage these via the Roborock app which is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app lets you schedule cleanings and track the battery's lifespan. But you'll need to jump through a few hoops in order to enable voice control with this model, which is a shame considering the quality of its performance.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop with exceptional suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and ingenuity features. Its smart design allows you to personalize and efficiently clean while saving time.
The X40 is the first robot vacuum cleaner to provide 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which easily makes it one of the best alternatives available. This powerful vacuum can clean up dry debris, including pet hair and dust. It has a mop of excellent quality that can clean hard floors without using a pad. The X40 is also very quiet in operation, with only occasional bursts during mode changes or self-maintenance.
Another notable feature is the X40's expandable and liftable side brush which allows it to get into difficult-to-access corners as well as clean curved furniture like table and chair legs. It also allows the robot to reach under furniture that is low-profile which makes it a great choice for small apartments and condominiums with small spaces. robot vacuum reviews tilts down when it spots wet spots. This is a wonderful feature that enables the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors through repeated back-and-forth movements.

Unlike some other robots that solely focus on one task, the X40 can perform both vacuuming and mopping simultaneously or separately. It can also be programmed to eliminate areas with carpets and mop only hard floors or vice versa. It can be controlled using the Dreame app or via Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for smooth voice-controlled operation.
The app is easy to use and intuitive The X40 has many smart features that are easy to configure. Users can program the X40 to clean at certain times. It is also possible to alter suction power, alter modes, view maps and floor plans, and manage mopping setting. The X40 will also track its progress, and alert you when it's finished.
The X40 is easy-to-maintain and offers many convenient features, making it an ideal choice for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin into a huge 3.2 L bin, cleans the mop pads, and refills them with clean water and cleaning solution. It will also tell you if the mop pad has reached its capacity to the max and alert you to the situation prior to it bursting.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's among the most expensive available and comes with numerous extra features that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub is a brand new feature in its mop heads, makes use of two high-speed mop heads to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a maximum suction force of 7,000Pa. This is much higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can remove pet hair and other small dirt particles in addition to removing spills and wet spots.
The mops are cleaned and dried at the base station each time they are used. This is an excellent feature because it prevents the build-up of odours and mould in storage, and also makes the mop system more efficient. It's a system that has yet to be seen on other robot vacuum and mop models and could be a useful method to keep your home clean for longer.
There's a wealth of settings on offer, including the ability to schedule cleaning and alter a variety of preferences. The app allows you to set these preferences or make use of the buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and has a lot of options for customising the cleaning routine, and there are numerous functions that other robots don't include, such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power whenever it detects dust particles instead of relying on the manual setting.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we've seen on market, sporting metallic and white design that looks classy and sophisticated. It's a bit heavier at 4kg than some of the other robots on this list but it's not a lot of weight. It feels solid and well-built. Mopping is also well-designed, and the double rotating mops work well on hard floors and in corners. The MopExtend feature lets them extend up to 2mm below the baseboards.
